Ecotile Is Opening A New Warehouse In Europe
Ecotile Flooring are embarking on a new opportunity to cement our expansion plans in Europe. In a joint venture with long term Dutch distributor Floormaxx, we are opening a new warehouse in Deventer, Netherlands on May 15th.
Warehouse space at our factory in Luton has been seriously depleted to make room for our fourth injection-moulding machine arriving at the end of June. We are utilising another unit on our industrial estate to hold UK stock but the warehouse in Deventer significantly increases our stock levels and reduces the cost and lead-time for deliveries to our customers on mainland Europe.
Looking ahead this development gives us a certain amount of security when Brexit is finalised. With the withdrawal process started on the 29th March this year, it is vital that we continue to do everything we can to keep a healthy and productive relationship with our clients (both present and future) in Europe.
Our CEO, James Geyde previously released a statement in regards to his thoughts about Brexit:
“Ecotile are a UK based manufacturer of interlocking floor tiles, approximately 40% of the tiles we manufacture are exported to the EU, 10% to the rest of the world and the balance fulfills our UK orders so the vote to leave the EU potential could have serious ramifications for us.
I will freely admit that when I woke up on Friday to hear the result I was nervous. A week later and a trip around Europe meeting my customers and I have to say I feel a lot more confident about the future”.
We are confident that we will continue to have strong links with our partners in Europe and around the world and want to reassure our customers that we are doing everything possible to make doing business with them as easy as possible.
