Ecotile has a long history of supplying both the MoD and FM specialist contractors across the Defence Estate. Our original E500 7mm interlocking floor tiles are frequently used in maintenance areas, stores and workshops, providing a quickly installed modular floor. Strong enough for industrial use, but with no disruption to operations.

We’ve recently worked exclusively with the UK’s Ministry of Defence (MoD) to create a new ultra-low resistance, modular electro-static discharge flooring solution for use in explosives processing facilities and areas where static shocks could be lethal.

MoD Specification Conductive Floor Tile

Ecotile’s new specialist dissipative tile is designed to meet the MoD’s Conductive Regime – a protocol required where small static charges can cause OME (Ordnance, Munitions and Explosives) with ignition energies of 1mJ and below to ignite.

Our modular ESD solution was found by the DOSG to offer many advantages over other approved MoD ESD surfaces. The ability to replace solitary tiles if any damage occurred to the floor was noted as a key cost and time saver. Modular ESD tiles will minimise disruption to operations or downtime of an MoD asset, whilst providing significant financial savings.
